DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SCARE:COULD IT BY THE GUILT FEELING?

A study on presidential transition preparations by U.S. counterterrorism agencies found the following about the Department of Homeland Security that never happened before in a USdepartment:

Nearly 20 percent of 775 of DHS executive positions, including 34 critical posts, were vacant as of three months ago. More than 72 percent of DHS career executives left the department between October 2003 and September 2007. More than half who remain have been in their jobs less than two years.

I would just say DHS shouldn’t have been established in the fist place. But part of President Bush subtle war on Muslims, it was an essential part to “protect the Americans” at home and overseas.

Maybe these top officials felt bad about the ethics of their work; maybe, and most of them are military or intelligence double-dippers, felt guilty for enriching themselves, mostly again, by being part of President Bush wars.

ENDLESS FEAR: WATCHING MUSLIM TERRORISTS

“The Washington Post Magazine” had a cover story about a day in the life Chan, a counter-terrorism official.

A “Middle Eastern” terrorist suspect boarding pass had been printed with a special mark. At the checkpoint, a guard was supposed to divert the man for additional screening. The guard missed the mark. Hell broke loose.

A 78-year-old Egyptian woman in a wheelchair is trying to board a plane from Nashville to JFK with $9,800 in cash and eight boxes of razor blades in her bra.

A Lebanese was arrested in Los Angeles. The guy was nervous about flying, so he smoked pot.

Chan said: “There’s an underlying, unknown anxiety and stress in those of us who deal with terrorist threats. We know we’re getting farther away from 9/11 and closer and closer to the next attack. It’s only a matter of time.”

He often has two minutes — no more — to determine if a person is an immediate threat: “He’s on a watch list for terrorists. He is short, 55, 170 pounds, possibly Muslim.”

Chan talked to himself: “Don’t overreact. Don’t under-react,” He doesn’t want his agents to see him scared.

So goes this endless fear of Islam and Muslims.

Until when? I believe the Americans are in denial until they answer their question (why do they hate us?) correctly. Which is because of US foreign policy of invading and occupying Muslim countries.

MOVIE: “STOP LOSS” AND THE AMERICANS’ DENIAL

Saw “Stop Loss,” a very good movie about an American soldier who came back from Iraq , but was ordered to go to Iraq again. Iraq War has saddened me enough, and this movie made me almost cry. Watching the movie is like living its events in details, especially the human part of it, the drinking, the fighting and the bizarre behaviors. I read that movies like these are not popular in America ; actually, there were less than ten people in the theater with me. That the Americans do not want to watch movies like this confirms the denial they have been living in since 9/11: Why they hate us? Why they killed our civilians? Why they kill our soldiers in Iraq? Why a lot of those who came back safe have psychological problems? Why is the whole world against us? Aren’t we nice people? Don’t we send billions of dollars every year to help others? Why are we in this mess? I believe this denial will continue until the Americans learn that this whole thing started because Washington politicians are not driven by what is good for America as much as by what is good for their next re-election campaign
